The agrifood industry: a trade surplus attributable to wines and spirits

In 2015, the agrifood industry was still a powerhouse of industry in France. Production increased in volume for the second consecutive year and the trade surplus recovered thanks to beverages. The agrifood industry is composed for the most part of SMEs but its economic results, especially in exports, are concentrated in just a few large or intermediate-sized groups. 96% of exports are achieved by groups and 83% by 180 large or intermediate-sized groups.
