Agricultural Income in 2012

In 2012, in France, as in EU-27, the value of the agricultural production grew under the influence of prices, in particular cereals and animal products, except milk. As the price of intermediate consumption also increased, the agricultural factor income per labour unit stagnated, on average, in EU-27, after two years of growth. Thus, in France, according to the provisional data the most recent, this income continued to grow (+ 5,4 %), after the increase of 2011 and especially 2010. Since 2005, it fluctuated sharply. Over the period 2005-2012, its overall progression did a little better than the average of the European countries. The French surplus of foreign trade in food products was stable, around 11 billion euros. Increasing again for the transformed products, it is reduced for the raw farm products because of the fall of the exported volumes of wheat.
