AGRICULTURAL INCOME IN 2010

In France, as in EU-27, agriculture recovered in 2010 after two difficult years. This growth is mainly due to the sharp increase in the price of crops. In total, France, the value of agricultural production grew overall by 7.5% despite its decline in volume. Expenses of farmers continued to decline in volume and price. Consequently, agricultural factor income per labour unit rose sharply (+ 37.2% in real terms). Its three-year average is still on the downward trend observed since the late 1990s. The surplus of foreign trade in food products increased again clearly to € 7.6 billion.
