Jean-Michel Annequin, Marie-Hélène Blonde, Michel Braibant et

According to the first estimates for 2009, the value of agricultural production fell despite a slight increase in volume. The year is marked by a general reduction in prices which particularly affects crops and milk. The slight decline in costs does not compensate farmers for the decline in production. Overall, agricultural income per labour unit in real terms drop by 20% in 2009 and Entrepreneurial income per non salaried labour unit in real terms by 34%. Both indicators had declined in 2008 after two years of strong growth.
