French electoral rolls on 1st March 2014: spotlight on European citizens
According to the finalised figures, on 1st March 2014, 44.6 million French people were registered on the electoral rolls in France. At that date, 1.2 million foreign citizens from the European Union residing in France fulfilled the criteria to vote in France. Among them, 278,000 (23%) were registered for the municipal elections and 245,000 (20%) for the European elections. Nine out of ten voters were Portuguese, British, Italian, Belgian, Spanish or German.
