The number of voters remained virtually stable between 1st March 2014 and 1st March 2015
On 1st March 2015, according to provisional data, 44.6 million French people were registered on electoral rolls in France. Following the increase recorded in 2014, the number of voters fell by 0.1% (-65,000 registered). In 2015, the departmental elections, traditionally attracting few voters, and the postponement of the regional elections in December explain this slight decline. This decline affects the majority of French regions, and is more noticeable in rural areas.
