Insee PremièreAgriculture in 2014 in France and in Europe

In 2014 in the European Union of 28, the value of agricultural production decreased significantly, as rising product volumes did not offset the sharp downturn in prices. The value of intermediate consumption also decreased with input prices. In all, the factor income per farm worker edged down slightly in real terms; its level had been virtually stable since 2011. In France, according to the latest provisional data, this income recovered significantly (+10.5%), after a sharp fall in 2013. This increase came mainly from wine and milk production. The French trade surplus in agri-food products fell from 11.7 to 9.7 billion euros.
