Agriculture in 2013 in France and Europe

In 2013 in the European Union of 28, the value of agricultural production was virtually unchanged, with rising production volumes offsetting lower prices. As the value of intermediate consumption increased, the revenue of factors of the agricultural branch per asset decreased in real terms (-1.3% on average), after stagnating in 2012. According to the latest provisional data, this revenue declined significantly (- 19.8%) in France, following three years of growth, due to falling prices of large crops and rising input prices. The French trade surplus in agri-food products (including international trade) rose slightly to € 11.7 billion.
