In 2010, employees of French local-government agencies (Fonction Publique Territoriale: FPT) averaged net monthly earnings of €1,800 on a full-time-equivalent basis. This represents an increase of 1.3% in current euros over the previous year. Factoring in the 1.5% inflation of 2010, the gain came to 0.2% in constant euros. In constant euros, average net earnings rose 0.4% for tenured employees, but fell 1.9% for non-tenured workers. Median net monthly earnings came to €1,616 in 2010, or 10% below average net earnings. In constant euros, they remained stable between 2009 and 2010. For employees on the payroll of the same local-government unit in both 2009 and 2010 working an identical proportion of full-time hours, average net earnings rose at a faster pace, gaining 1.0% in constant euros.
