Information and communication technologies in market services: to each firm according
to its needs
In 2009, market-services firms made greater use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) than wholesale/retail and industrial firms. As their employees are, on average, higher-skilled than workers in other sectors, they tend to make greater use of ICTs. ICT use increased between 2002 and 2009. But the same technologies do not predominate in each sector. E-commerce is more common in the hotel industry, computer systems in the cleaning and security industries. Within each sector, the least intensive ICT users have been tending to catch up with the most advanced users.
