Households income between 2002 and 2007: geographical redistribution but disparities
in urban clusters
Income gaps narrowed between geographic areas of metropolitan France (mainland + Corsica) from 2002 to 2007. On the one hand, income rose faster in the lowest-income regions. On the other hand, differences between rural and urban areas diminished. However, with the widening of income gaps between age groups, disparities remain significant in urban clusters, where the least affluent households are facing ever greater difficulties.
