This survey follows on from the themed surveys conducted since 2001 on Eurostat's initiative.
In France, this survey notably follows on from the one conducted in 2002 involving 12,000 industrial, trade and services companies (ICT 2002). It also follows on from the specific investigations conducted on the topic of electronic commerce in 2000 and then again in 2004. Then annual ICT surveys about the companies of at least 10 persons employed were realized within the framework of the regulation n°808 / 2004 of April 21st, 2004 of the European Parliament and the Council amended by the regulation n°1006 / 2009 of September 16th, 2009, concerning the community statistics on the information society.
The survey ICT-TPE about the companies of less than 10 occupied persons is, for Eurostat, an optional extension of the survey on ICT for companies with 10 or more persons employed.

Plan de sondage :

The sample of the survey ICT is pulled in a sampling database built from the Sirus directory. The method of sampling is a random sampling stratified according to the economic activity, the turnover and per employment size, measured in number of persons employed (salaried employees and non salaried employees) according to the recommandations of Eurostat. About 10 000 Legal units are interviewed.

Autres spécifications :

The ICT-TPE survey is an extension to firms employing less than 10 people from the annual ICT survey, extension requested by the Committee "Business and market strategies" of the National Council for Statistical Information (CNIS) on renewal of the general interest label of the ICT survey for the years 2011 to 2015. The ICT-TPE survey obtained the label of general interest and statistical quality with binding. In 2016, INSEE and its partners realize this survey for the second time after a first edition in 2012.
