The survey's primary objective is to describe as accurately as possible the various resources of the young adults: wages, social transfers, transfers in cash and kind from parents or other households. The survey provides information on the standard of living of this part of the population, contributing to better address key issues of public policy.

The main topics studied through the survey are: - characteristics of the resources of young adults aged 18 to 24 years : nature, frequency and amount ; - inventory of the aid received and provided by the parents of the young adult (and optionally by other households or individuals) ; - the resources needed for young adults to become self-sufficient ; - the weight of support for young adults in the budget of parents ; - the relationship between young adults and their parents.

Plan de sondage :
The survey is based on a sample of dwellings drawn spring 2014 in a frame 1 January 2013. The sampling frame considered is the sample OCTOPUSSE. As this covers only housing of ordinary households, an additional sample is drawn into the directory of communities (boarding schools, student hostels, hostels for young workers). The survey covers approximately 5,000 young respondents : 4,000 in ordinary dwellings, 1000 in community. The section dedicated to parents represents about 6,000 responding parents.
