Définition
An intermediate-sized enterprise (ETI) is a company with between 250 and 4,999 employees, and a turnover which does not exceed 1.5 billion euros or a balance sheet total which does not exceed 2 billion euros.
A company with fewer than 250 employees but a turnover greater than 50 million euros and a balance sheet exceeding 43 million euros is also considered to be of intermediate size.
ETIs represent an intermediate category between small and medium enterprises and large companies.
Remarque
This category of business is defined by implementation decree No. 2008-1354 of Article 51 of the law on modernisation of the economy, relating to the criteria which allow for the definition of the class to which a business belongs for the purposes of statistical and economical analysis.
