Définition

Up until 2005 the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development used the concept of national healthcare expenditure to ensure comparability between its members. This notion differs slightly from current expenditure on medical care and materials, as it does not include daily sickness benefit or expenditure on medical training and research, but does include the gross fixed-capital formation (GFCF) of public sector hospitals.
