Définition

Holiday centres (or colonies) are collective structures with accommodation for youths aged 4 to 17 during their school or professional holidays or their leisure time. They receive groups made up of at least 12 children and/or adolescents for a duration of more than 5 nights. The organisers, associations or local authorities that offer such services are required to declare them with the devolved services of the ministry in charge of youth.

This category of centre for minors was in force until 31 August 2006. Since, collective educational structures for minors have been divided up differently.
