Définition

The consumer goods industries cover activities whose "natural" outlet is final consumption by households.

These industries correspond to the code EC in the NES classification, the summary economic classification which was in use until december 2007 :

  • clothing and leather ;
  • publishing, printing and reproduction ;
  • pharmacy, perfumes, maintenance ;
  • household equipment.

There is no such grouping in NA, the agregated economic classification which replaced NES since 2008. The precise perimeter of consumer goods in each statistical operation is given by the list of the items taken into account in the economic classification to which the operation refers.
