Définition
An urban municipality is a densely populated or intermediate density municipality in the sense of the municipal degree of urbanisation. Thinly or very thinly populated municipalities are called rural.
Remarque
This definition of urban municipalities replaces since November 2020 a definition based on urban units, which considered urban municipalities to be those belonging to an urban unit.
