Définition
A rent is the amount paid by a tenant for the use of a dwelling. The rent does not include rental charges (maintenance of common areas, water, energy, etc.).
Remarque
Rent, for private sector housing, can be upgraded each year up to a maximum of the annual change in the benchmark index of rents (IRL), an index which has replaced the Construction Cost Index (CCI) at the time of its entry into force on 1 January 2006. The notion of "imputed rent" (or "fictitious rent") covers the rental service provided to themselves the owners of their homes: to that is, the rents that the owners would have to pay if they were tenants in the accommodation they were renting live.
