Définition

Covered or open area given over to the circulation of customers to carry out their purchases, an area given over to the display of goods offered for sale and to the payment thereof, an area given over to the circulation of staff for the presentation of goods for sale (except for storerooms, laboratories and sales areas for fuels). This does not include storerooms, courtyards, warehouses and all areas not open to the public, car parks, etc.

Areas corresponding to non-sedentary forms or sales on stands or by mail-order are excluded.

Remarque

The size of a sales floor area generally is expressed in square metres.
