Définition

A contract that cannot have either the purpose or the effect of providing long-term employment related to the normal and permanent activity of the company. It may only be used for the execution of a precise, temporary task, called an assignment, and only in the cases provided for by the French Labour Code. An employee under a temporary work contract, called a temporary worker, is hired and paid by a temping agency which places the worker at the disposal of the company for a fixed term. The specific cases of recourse to this contract provided by the law are the same as those for the fixed-term contract, except for subsidised contracts for which temporary work is prohibited.
