Tableware: France is the European Union’s leading producer

In 2019, production of tableware items (such as glassware and china) reached a total of €990 million in France. Over half of employees in the sector work in the Hauts-de-France region. France is Europe's largest producer of tableware, accounting for 22% of total European production, ahead of Germany and Italy. There is a trade deficit, however, except in the case of glass tableware.
