In 2014, the value of tyre production amounted to €2.43 billion in France. Production of tyres for passenger cars stood at €1.38 billion, 12% of European production. The tyre industry has been subject to variations in automobile production. It must now face increased foreign competition from Eastern European and Asian countries.
