Agriculture in 2006 in France and Europe: An upturn in incomes
In 2006, in the European Union, the net agricultural result per worker in real terms showed an upturn or continued to rise in most countries. Agricultural production declined in volume, prices reacted by rising strongly and employment continued its decline. In France, the net agricultural result per person increased by 9.1 % in real terms according to the most recent provisional data. It showed a noticeable upturn for the first time since 1999. Calculated per non-salaried working person, net income for agricultural undertakings rose by 16.1 % in real terms, after falling sharply the previous year.
