Company salaries in 2006: a moderate increase
In 2006 in private sector companies, the average monthly salary for a full-time post rose to €2,583 gross, and €1,941 net of all PAYE deductions. Taking into account the 1.6% rise in retail prices in 2006, the average gross salary rose by 1% between 2005 and 2006 in inflation-adjusted Euros, and the net salary by 0.4%. The range of salaries changed little. All members of the pay structure saw their net salaries increase very slightly. The relative difference between women's and men's average salaries remained stable, with women working full-time earning an average salary which was 18.9% lower than their male counterparts.
