Indices of services production provide a short-term indication of monthly changes in activity in the market services. As sucb, they are a primary information to monitor the business cycle in France. They fall under European Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 (EBS-regulation).
Indices of services production are calculated thanks to administrative data, the CA3 declaration, a form which enterprises must fill in monthly or quarterly for the payment of VAT, combined with price indices, in order to get volume indices.
