In order to continue to shed light on the economic and social debate as it has done
for the last 70 years, the Institute has finalised in 2016 its strategic vision for
the next decade, entitled "Horizon 2025, an ambitious strategy for INSEE".
INSEE and its agents are now focusing all their actions in the "Horizon 2025" dynamic,
as evidenced by this activity report.
Achievements and flagship projects in 2016 include: key economic indicators available
more quickly, spotlight on SMEs and city centre retail trade, new prospects for measuring
employment, difficulties encountered by young people, the future electoral repertoire,
the preparation of the opening of the Sirene database ...
Sir Charles Bean, Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, highlights
the challenges faced by national statistical institutes.
