According to the managers interviewed in May 2013, the business climate remained grim in the retail trade and in the trade and repair of motor vehicles: the composite indicator stabilised still significantly under its long term average.

A little less business leaders than in April have declared a decrease in their past sales, especially in trade and repair of motor vehicles in which they were less pessimistic. However balances stayed low.

Forecasts remained dull: each of the three balances concerning expected sales, ordering intentions and general business outlook was still considerably below its long term average.
