In January 2013, the turnover in manufacturing industry fell by 1.9% compared to December

Turnover in industry and construction – January 2013

Every index in this issue is in value, seasonally and working-day adjusted.

In January 2013, the turnover decreased significantly in the manufacturing industry (–1.9%), after a rise in December. Exports dropped (–3.4%).

In January 2013, the turnover of industry as a whole also went down by 1.9%.

Decrease over the last three months…

Over the quarter (q-o-q), the turnover decreased significantly in the manufacturing industry (–1.7%). It slumped in the manufacture of transport equipment (–5.1%) and in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–6.5%). On the other hand, it rose slightly in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.5%).

…and over the last year

Year-on-year, the turnover declined in the manufacturing industry (–1.5%). It fell dramatically in the manufacture of transport equipment (–6.8%). On the other hand, it rose considerably in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+4.1%).

In January 2013, the turnover plummeted in the manufacture of transport equipment (–6.8%), mainly in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (–11.6%). The turnover fell substantially in other manufacturing (–1.3%). It went down slightly in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–0.2%). It remained stable in the electrical and electronic equipment; machine equipment (0.0%).

On the other hand, the turnover rose in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.4%).
