In March 2012, the turnover in manufacturing industry decreased by 1.6%

Turnover in industry and construction – March 2012

Every index in this issue is in value, seasonally and working-day adjusted.

In March 2012, the turnover declined in the manufacturing industry (–1.6%). It was up in February (+0.9%). Exports fell by 2.8%, after +0,2% in February.

In March 2012, the turnover flopped in the manufacture of transport equipment (–7.2%), particularly in the manufacture of other transport equipment (–10.1%).

The turnover also dropped in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–5.1%).

The turnover decreased in the manufacture of food products and beverages (–1.7%) and in the electrical and electronic equipment; machine equipment (–0.6%) in March 2012.

Over the same period, the turnover rose in the other manufacturing (+1.1%).

In March 2012, the turnover of the industry as a whole (B to E) weakened by 0.7%.

In the last quarter (Q/Q–1), the turnover in the manufacturing industry increased by +0.5%. It especially grew in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+4.4%).

Year-on-year (Q/Q–4), the turnover grew by 2.2% in the manufacturing industry.
