The consumer price index decreased by 0.6% in February 2010

Price index – February 2010

Monthly change: -0.6%; year–on–year:+1.3%

In February 2010, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.6% (+1.3% year to year), after a decrease by 0.2% in January.

The price index without tobacco increased also by 0.6% (+1.2% year-on-year).

Adjusted for seasonal variations, the monthly change went up by +0.4% (+1.3% year to year).

The rise of the CPI in February resulted from the increase in the prices of manufactured products, linked mainly to the end of winter sales, and in the prices of other services, related to the February holidays.

Rises were only slightly moderated by the decrease in the prices of air transport and new cars.
