The consumer price index for all households in the whole of France rose by 0.1% in June 2009

Price index – June 2009

Monthly variation: +0.1%; year-on-year: -0.5%.

In June, the consumer price index for all households in the whole of France edged up by 0.1% (-0.5% year-on-year): the growth of energy prices was nearly compensated by the decrease in fresh products. For seasonal reason, prices of actual rentals, water supply and refuse collection increased, as well as those of other services. Meanwhile, prices of transport and communication services went down. The beginning of the sales period in Metropolitan France explains the decline in prices of manufactured products, in particular of clothing and footwear. Prices of foodstuffs except fresh products weakened slightly.

The price index without tobacco increased by 0.1% (-0.5% year-on-year). The price index adjusted for seasonal variations went up also by 0.1%.
