Quarterly business survey (goods-producing industries) – April 2009

According to the business leaders questioned to the quarterly survey of April 2009, global and export demands fell again in manufacturing industry in Q1 2009.

Looking at business leader’s expectations, demand would continue to deteriorate in Q2 2009, but in a less pronounced way.

Production capacity was anew less intensely used in Q1 2009: the proportion of businesses encountering production bottlenecks fell by 7 points.

According to the business leaders, the fall of industrial manpower increased in Q1 2009 anew. Looking at business leader’s expectations, the decline is expected to continue over the next three months.
