According to the business leaders questioned in May 2013, the industrial economic situation improves. The synthetic indicator increases by four points but remains below its long-term average.
The turning point indicator is in the neutral area.
According to the business leaders, their past activity improved markedly; the balance of opinion goes up strongly but remains below their long-terme average .
On the other hand, the balance of opinion about the production outlook of business leaders is steady and remains below its long-term average.
While export order books decreased, total order books are considered as nearly steady. The corresponding balances of opinion are very below their long-terme average.
The general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, is nearly steady; this balance of opinion is very low.
Stocks of finished products are nearly steady and their level is rated as normal.
