According to the business leaders questioned in December 2012, the industrial economic situation remains deteriorated in spite of a slightly improvement of the synthetic indicator which increases in one point: in fact, it remains very below its long-term average.
The turning point indicator remains in the neutral area.
Business leaders consider that the rhythm of activity is less deteriorated: the balance of opinion increases markedly but remains very low.
Looking at the personal production outlook, the business leaders remain pessimistic about their future activity.
Total order books which decreased slightly and export order books which are rated as nearly steady remain considered as very low.
The general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, improved; this balance of opinion increases but its level remains very low.
Stocks of finished products decrease slightly and their level is rated as near their long-term average.
