According to the business leaders questioned in September 2012, the industrial economic situation remains deteriorated: the synthetic indicator is steady but remains markedly below its long-term average.
Dispite of a slightly increasing for August, the turning point indicator remains in the unfavorable area.
Business leaders consider that the rhythm of activity has markedly decreased in manufacturing industry. Stocks of finished products decrease. Total order books increase but are rated as very low: the balance of opinion remains very below their historical average.
Looking at the personal production outlook, which is steady, activity in manufacturing industry would be unfavorable in the next months. The general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, weakens slightly and remains very below its long-term average.
