According to the business leaders questioned in January 2012, the industrial economic situation deteriorated anew: the synthetic indicator decreases by three points, after it decreased by two points in December. It is markedly below its long-term average.
The turning point indicator remains in the unfavorable area .
Business leaders consider that their past activity has weakened in manufacturing industry. Stocks of finished products are rated above to their normal level. Total and export order books decrease and are rated as very low.
Looking at the personal production outlook, which weakens markedly, activity in manufacturing industry would fall in the next months. The general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, stays at a very low level: it is always well below its long-term average.
