According to the business leaders questioned in December 2011, the fall-off in manufacturing industry goes on in december : the synthetic indicator decreases by two points, after it decreased by one point in November. It is below its long-term average.
The turning point indicator remains in the unfavorable area .
Business leaders consider that their past activity has markedly weakened in manufacturing industry, the balance of opinion remaining well below its long-term average. Stocks of finished products reduced slightly and are rated near to their normal level. Total order books decrease strongly and are rated as low. Export order books increase a little in december but they are always considered as low.
The personal perspectives of production increase slightly but stay unfavourable. The general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, weaken anew and are always well below its long-term average.
