French business climate and turning point indicators –July 2011

Warning : the parameters of the French business climate have been reestimated as every year.

According to the business leaders of the main economic sectors, the French business climate is deteriorating in July 2011. The indicator contracted by four points, and reaches now 105. However it still remains above its long term average (100). This decline is perceptible through almost all economic sectors. Business climate indicators fell by over three to five points in industry, services, retail trade and wholesale sectors. In building sector though, business leaders’ answers suggest a stabilization of the activity for several months.

At the same time, the turning point indicator slips back for the third month in a row, but remains in the favourable zone.
