According to the business leaders of the main economic sectors, the French business climate remains stable in March 2010. The indicator stays around 91, that is 23 points above the minimum record reached in March 2009. It is still way under its long-term average. However, this stabilization hides differences among economic sectors : business leaders’ answers suggest an improvement in industry but a slowdown in services and retail trade.
At the same time, the turning point indicator remains in the favourable zone for nine months in a row, after a year and a half in the unfavourable zone. This shows continuous signs of a coming recovery.
