According to the business leaders of the main economic sectors, the French business climate gains one point in January 2010. The indicator attains around 88, that is 20 points above the minimum record reached in March 2009. It is still way under its long-term average. Indeed, in all economic sectors but building which remains stable, business leaders’ answers do suggest a slight improvement in the French economic climate.
At the same time, the turning point indicator remains in the favourable zone for seven months in a row, after a year and a half in the unfavourable zone. This shows continuous signs of a coming recovery, mainly driven this month in services and retail trade.
