According to the business leaders of the main economic sectors, the French business climate keeps on improving slightly in July 2009. The indicator rises to 75 after 74 in June. That is 7 points above the minimum record reached in March 2009. Nevertheless, it remains far below its long-term average.
At the same time, the turning point indicator goes up in the favourable zone for the first time since the end of 2007. Since the indicator can be revised, it is advisable to wait until next publication before interpreting this movement as the sign of a coming recovery.
However, business leaders’ answers do suggest an improvement in the French economic climate.
