In the fourth quarter of 2012, the “Cost-of-Construction Index” increased by 0.06% over a year

Cost-of-construction index – Fourth Quarter 2012

In the fourth quarter of 2012, the “Cost-of-Construction Index” (CCI) stood at 1,639 versus 1,648 the previous quarter. Over a year, CCI increased by 0.06%, versus a 1.48% annual growth in the third quarter of 2012.

The price decline of the collective residential buildings explained the quarterly decline of the CCI (-0.55 %).

The method of CCI computation changed in the first quarter of 2010.

CCI is now compiled by econometric methods called "hedonic" that can calculate a pure price change based on characteristics of the construction observed by the survey " cost of construction index and cost of new housing” (ICC-PRLN in French).
