In June 2015, manufacturing output decreased (–0.7%)

Please note: all the series are seasonally (SA) and working-day adjusted (WDA).

The commentary shows variations of subsections by decreasing contribution. The contribution of a subsection depends on the extent of the change and on its weight.

In June 2015, output decreased in the manufacturing industry (–0.7% after +0.7% in May) and was almost stable in the industry as a whole (–0.1% after +0.4% in May).

Manufacturing output diminished over the last quarter (–0.5%)

Over the last quarter, output decreased in the manufacturing sector (–0.5% q-o-q) as well as in the industry as a whole (–0.7% q-o-q).

Output declined in mining, quarrying, energy and water supply (–1.7%), in the manufacture of transport equipment (–1.9%) and more sharply in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (–11.6%). It decreased slightly in other manufacturing (–0.3%). Conversely, output increased a little in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment; machine equipment (+0.3%) and in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.2%).

Over the year, manufacturing output increased (+0.8%)

Manufacturing output of the second quarter of 2015 increased compared to the second quarter of 2014 (+0.8% y-o-y). For that same period, overall industrial output also went up (+1.0% y-o-y).

Output increased in all sectors: in other manufacturing (+0.7%), in mining, quarrying, energy and water supply (+1.6%), in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment (+0.8%), in the manufacture of transport equipment (+1.1%) and more markedly in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+5.1%). It went up moderately in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+0.4%).
