FAQ : What is a CSV file?

Answer

CSV (for Comma Separated Value), is a standard text format used by most spreadsheets (Lotus 123, Excel, Quattro, etc.) to import data. Specifically, a CSV file includes commas or semicolons and line breaks that the spreadsheet uses to arrange the data in cells, rows, and columns.

The procedure for opening a CSV file varies according to the spreadsheet. For example, if you are working in a Windows environment: select the file, right-click with the mouse while pressing the shift key on your keyboard, and use the «Open with» function to select your spreasheet.
