FAQ : I want to create a link from my site to the INSEE site

Answer

INSEE terms are set out in our copyright page, excerpted below:

INSEE is favorable to the establishment of URL links with its insee.fr website and related subsites. However, to enable INSEE (a) to ensure that the character and environment of the host site make it desirable to establish the link and (b) to verify that the information is disseminated on the host site in the required conditions, the establishment of such a link is subject to the prior agreement of INSEE. The agreement shall be expressed in tangible form in a letter of authorization from the insee publications department to the requesting entity. INSEE reserves the right to rescind its authorization at any time if the institute believes that the link has ceased to comply with INSEE's editorial policy.

Requests should be sent to:
Monsieur le Chef du Département de l'Offre Éditoriale - timbre H201
18 boulevard Adolphe Pinard
75675 Paris cedex 14
FRANCE
e-mail: -dg75-h201@insee.fr).

The links must mention the name and address of the site owner (private individual or legal entity).

The link must be set up not on the logo but on the word INSEE in black letters on white background, set in a rectangle measuring no more than 25 mm by 9 mm. You can use this model:
