Detailed, annotated results of the main surveys of the French public statistical system. Synthèses gives direct access to survey-data highlights through a wide range of quantitative tables. The journal also offers expert analysis to help readers understand the figures and put them into perspective.
The series traditionally included four issues a year on household income: "Revenus et patrimoine des ménages" (Household income and assets), "Revenus sociaux" (Transfer income), "Revenus d'activité non salariée" (Income from non-payroll employment), and "Évolution des salaires" (Changes in wages and salaries). Other special topics reflected the latest statistical investigations. Subjects covered in 1999, for example, included agriculture, manufacturing trade, and tracking pensions.
