National Interprofessional Union for Employment in Industry and Commerce / UNEDIC
Definition
Since 2009, after the mergin of the networks of ANPE and ASSEDIC, Unedic continues to manage the insurance scheme unemployment and to fix the modalities of compensation and to be managed by the social partners.
In France, the Unedic is, with Pôle Emploi (the ex Assedic) and the Garp (Grouping of Assedic in the Paris Region), the body responsible for managing unemployment insurance. More specifically, it is responsible for financial management of the system. It implements the regulations decided upon by the social partners, provides the means required for implementation, and coordinates the Assedic network.
