Suspension

Definition

The term suspension involves the total or partial suspension of enforcement of a sentence. A suspended prison sentence may be alone or accompanied by probation. Suspension may be revoked in the event of any new sentencing to a criminal or correctional sentence without suspension for a felony or a common law offence. The conviction disappears if not revoked within a period of 5 years.
