Employment status
Definition
The notion of status applies only to the labour force with a job. For all the active people with a job, it makes it possible to make a systematic distinction between the self-employed and employees and, within the latter, those working in the private, pubic or semi-public sectors respectively.
Employees :
- employees in the private sector ;
- employees in the civil service (State, local authorities, public hospitals) ;
- employees in public or national enterprises and in Social Security.
Non-salaried people :
- self-employed without any employee ;
- employers ;
- home helps.
